School-to-Career/Cooperative Education

Course Description

The work experience component is offered to students in their senior year. It gives students a choice of real world job opportunities based on their career interests and their particular academic and skilled training. Business Education and Family Consumer Sciences students following their Programs of Study matrixes and will have the opportunity to obtain valuable hands-on experience and increase their chances of being hired for a job that may lead to a productive and worthwhile career through the Cooperative Work Experience component.
 
Students attending the GACTC have the opportunity to gain Cooperative Work Experience as well but through their CTC program.  The School-to-Career Work Experience also allows Academics and Core Academics students to explore and experience the real world of work in a variety of job situations.
 
It is recommended that students take computer courses that teach such skills as word processing, spreadsheets, database, multimedia, etc. These skills allow students to offer an employable skill to the employer in order to obtain a job.
