SAIT Looks to Help Students

The Student Assistance Program was designed to aid school personnel in identifying and assisting students who maybe experiencing behavior or academic problems in school. At times, those problems may be related to mental health concerns, depression, suicide,or alcohol and other drug use.

The Student Assistance Program utilizes a systematic process, along with specially trained school personnel, intervene and refer these students to appropriate in-school and/or community services.

Parents' role in the education of their children is very important. Research shows that parent involvement in education increases the likelihood of success for students. This holds true for children experiencing difficulties as well.

Parent support of the student assistance program (SAlT) process is necessary for student success. Students are more Likely to benefit from services provided by the team or agency staff when parents are informed, involved, and supportive.
