Being a native of Altoona and a graduate of Altoona Area High School, I value the outstanding tradition of excellence exemplified by the Altoona Area School District. Upon graduating from Penn State I was honored to be offered a position at AAHS where I have been teaching chemistry and physics for over 30 years. Teaching is my passion and I enjoy working with a variety of students and meeting the challenges each day offers. I believe that while teaching science content, I am also teaching life skills. I want my students to leave my class knowing that they are capable, amazing individuals with diverse talents. I also believe that education is not confined to the classroom. The opportunities for learning stretch to include experiences acquired through extracurricular events. I am a strong proponent of student involvement in sports, music, drama, service organizations and other activities. For these reasons, I have served as a coach and adviser for many clubs and organizations throughout my teaching career. Currently, I am Student Ambassador Adviser and National Honor Society Adviser.
