In the United States, cancer rates are increasing, especially among young people. This steady incline has resulted in the majority of Americans knowing someone in their family who has had cancer. Junior Margaret Brouse, with inspiration from a friend, identified this poignant issue and decided to create the CARE Club branch in response.

From Nov. 1 to Nov. 5 Altoona students voted for President, Senator and House representative in a mock election presented by the Youth and Government Club. In total 598 students voted in the election.

On Oct. 29, the girls’ soccer team took home a win in their first playoff game against Allderdice. The final score was 5-0.

During election week, the Youth and Government club will be holding a mock election. The student body will be able to vote for their presidential, state and local candidates.

Red Ribbon Week is an annual event celebrated nationwide to promote drug awareness and prevention among young people. This event educates communities about the dangers of drug use and the importance of living a drug-free life.

Making its return for the first time since the pandemic, the speech league will start their competition season soon.
