On Friday the 13th of November, the AAHS Performing Arts Club will present The War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast. For the safety of our community and student performers, this show will be streamed LIVE from the high school at 7pm that evening.
Based on the renowned science fiction novel, The War of the Worlds was adapted by Orson Welles in his infamous 1938 radio broadcast. Presented as a series of news bulletins, listeners of the program mistook the show as actual news and took to the streets in panic. In this adaptation, a radio station celebrates the 10 year anniversary of the legendary broadcast, complete with the entire original performance, live sound effects, commercials, and interviews with Welles and his colleagues about the events of that fateful night. There truly could not be a more perfect show in this time of upheaval and "fake news."
A link to purchase tickets will be posted in the near future.
