Fall Play

Monster Calls Poster

Congratulations to the cast and crew of
A Monster Calls!!!
On November 3 and 4, AAHS Drama will present the powerful new play, A Monster Calls. Originating at London's Old Vic Theatre and most recently performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D. C., AAHS is proud to premiere this work in our area. This emotional play will feature 30 talented high school actors onstage. With approximately 75 students involved backstage, the show will feature the talents of over 100 young artists!

Based on Patrick Ness’s piercing novel and the 2016 movie of the same name, this beautiful story is brought to the stage in a moving new adaptation. Thirteen-year-old Conor and his mum have managed just fine since his dad moved to America. But now his mum’s very sick and she’s not getting any better. His grandmother won’t stop interfering and the kids at school won’t look him in the eye. Then, one night, at seven minutes past midnight, Conor is woken by something at his window. A monster has come walking. It’s come to tell Conor tales from when it walked before. And when it’s finished, Conor must tell his own story and face his deepest fears.

Tickets are available now online at altoonaasd.booktix.com. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults (plus online processing fees). Tickets are reserved seating and will be available in advance in the AAHS Student Store, in the AAHS Auditorium Ticket Booth on October 30-31 from 3-4pm, and at the door 45 minutes prior to each performance.
