Keystone Testing

The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments designed to assess proficiency in the subject areas of Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Literature, English Composition, Biology, Chemistry, U.S. History, World History, and Civics and Government.

The Keystone Exams are one component of Pennsylvania's new system of high school graduation requirements. Keystone Exams will help school districts guide students toward meeting state standards.

Please visit the Department of Education website for testing dates and more information.

AP

Advanced Placement Exams are held in the spring of each year. The protocol for taking these tests is to register online for each test. To register, students must follow a two-step process:
    1. Students must enroll in their classes through the College Board

    2. To pay for the exams, students must use Total Registration

All students who qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program will qualify for a reduced price. Students who need additional financial assistance should speak with their counselor.

 PSAT/NMSQT

The Preliminary SAT is a great tool for 11th-grade students considering college and will be typically given in the fall each year. The PSAT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. Altoona Area Senior HS recommends that juniors take the PSAT to receive feedback about strengths and weaknesses and to help prepare for the SAT.

Students must answer all of the questions on the following pages to complete the exam registration. A confirmation page indicates that the exam registration process has been completed.

Altoona Area Senior HS is excited to offer families the ability to pay their exam fees online at the time of registration.
Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration.
Please contact the 10th-grade principal if you have questions.

ASVAB

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is given every year to students who are interested in pursuing a military career. The test provides specific information to help explore both military and civilian careers. Taking the ASVAB does not obligate students to the military in any way. Representatives from the military administer the exam once during the school day each October.

If you are interested in enlisting but missed this year's test, see your counselor or your recruiter to make individual arrangements.
